Logo for the company I work for, Retail Information Systems.

I went through over 20 concepts before hitting this one which I personally found appealing. Seems like the boss doesn't it like it as much as I do :(

There is a lot of symbolism in this logo, which is why I like it a lot.

Blue = Retail Bag (Retail)

Yellow = Bag handle + the transfer of information into the ring of information.

Dark Grey/Black = The ring representing the never-ending flow of information.

Gray = A series of systems (Systems). Everything is sitting inside of the the "system.

Retail Information Systems.

Tools Used
:bulletblue: Adobe Photoshop (concept prototyping)
:bulletorange: Adobe Illustrator (vector production and final renders)

Feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

I think it's a really nice logo; the blue square pulls everything together. I'm a newbie at designing logos so I really admire your work. Did you take classes to learn vectoring and rendering or did you learn it yourself over time?

Thank you :)

Nope, no classes or formal training. I started off using paths in Photoshop, then learned the ropes within Illustrator. Photoshop and Illustrator have similar path functions, they're just in different places (which can be a bit frustrating).

I'd suggest learning Illustrator for heavy vector work as it will be scalable to any size if needed in the future ;)

I wonder if you had chosen a soft aqua green instead of yellow? Yellow can actually put off a lot of people since it's a bold color. I can understand its use for contrast though, except in this graphic, I think I find it distracting right next to the dark gray ring. I love the design though. Very well done.

Blue and Yellow are complimentary colors, meaning they look good together. I don't really think green would compliment the logo too well :P

I like NeoSans but not with this icon or maybe the light blue color, another thing ...I didn't like the black color in da icon, I think if u try another color from the same tones would be much better, Try dark gray and use it for the font too.

The old logo has that retro touch to it. I can imagine this new logo, even though stylish and beautiful, become corny and outdated. That's unfortunately what happens and it is very hard to design a timeless logo. But that is a really nice one, Axe. Maybe it has a little too much different colours? I would have made the three light-gray-blue strips the same dark colour as the oval going around the logo. But that's just me and I'm no way a logo designer :D

Cheers
